First
of all the rough is sorted by size
and quality. |
| The
material is marked according to how
it is to be sawed. |
The
stones are then cut according to the
marking, and they are then orientated
by color. |
| The
stones are then preformed - cut slightly
larger than the final shape. |
The
stones are next set in wax and placed
on a dop stick. |
| The
stones are then roughly cut into shape. |
Following
this, the stones' facets are cut.
| The
stones are polished using tin oxide
powder (in the photograph, shown held
in the left hand). |
After
the cutting and polishing they are
checked for facet alignment and removed
from the dop stick for the final quality
check.
