Princess cuts are deep, so they are heavy relative to their face-up appearance. In other words, a princess cut will look smaller face-up that other shapes of the same carat weight. When comparing their per-carat prices to those of different cuts with comparable quality, they will seem to be relatively inexpensive. However, a gemstone's value should be judged by its apparent size and beauty.
